Plans have been finalized for a reading by former resident Dan Marsh.

Marsh will be at the Prescott-Nevada County Library Saturday, Nov. 19, at 6:30 p.m., to give a reading from his recently published book, Klandestined.

The event is sponsored by the Artesian Arts League. The club agreed to try and purchase 15 books to have on hand for the reading. The books will be sold and those making the purchase can get them autographed by Marsh.

League members agreed to keep the reception, which will follow the reading, simple, with cheese, crackers, small cookies and punch.

Duke said the league made about $68 from its yard sale at the Fourth Annual PumpkinFest. Several members donated items to be sold, and what didnt move was given to the Tri-Service Club to be sold at its Bargain Barn.

It was also agreed, at the leagues regular meeting, held Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the City Hall Auditorium, to purchase a moveable table rack. The league bought racks for chairs during the summer. The table rack will make it easier to move the tables for league events. The rack will hold eight tables.

Duke said members need to show up at a City Council meeting to discuss the city allowing the league to use all of the upstairs at City Hall. The idea is to install a kitchen-type area in a room so meals can be prepared there for dinner theaters and other events where food is served. A heating and air conditioning unit would have to be installed, but Duke said this could be done for about $600.

Primarily, the league needs the Councils permission so the room in question can be cleaned. Basically, the league will need a refrigerator, sink and cabinets for storage.

The Tour of Homes was also discussed at the meeting. Patrons will be asked to start at the Depot Museum where they will purchase tickets for $10 each. They will also be given brochures of the homes they will be visiting.

From there, they can visit the homes in any order they choose. The homes on display will be Mary and Curtis Lee Johnson, Philip and Janet McAdams, Penny Richards and Janet and John Hood. Two league members will be on hand at each house to help with the tour.

Refreshments will be served, with hot cider available at the Depot Museum, and wassail at Richardss bed and breakfast. There will be snack foods at the McAdams and Hood homes as well.

The tour will be Thursday, Dec. 8, from 4-7 p.m.

Peggy Lloyd, former curator of the Depot Museum, said the league needs to start thinking about participating in Christmas and Candlelight at Old Washington State Park for next year.

It was decided to skip having a meeting in December. The next meeting of the Artesian Arts League will be Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at 7 p.m. at the Prescott City Hall Auditorium.
