Florence CrossPublished Wednesday, November 16, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneFlorence Sewell Cross, 85, of Waldo, passed away Thursday, November 10, 2005, in the home. She was born February 12, 1920, in Willisville to the late Thomas Millard, and Mary Elizabeth Blackman Sewell. She was a retired nurse from Willis-Knighton Hospital in Shreveport, La., and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She loved helping people, farming, yard work, quilting and writing poems. Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Arthur S. Cross; two nephews, James Rodney Stocks of Raleigh, N.C. and Ronald Joe Stocks of Cabot. She is survived by two sisters, Elvis Sewella and Geraldine Odell both of Willisville. Funeral services were Saturday, November 12, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Lewis Chapel. Burial Will be in Forrest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, La., at 2 p.m. under direction of Lewis Funeral Home. Visitation was Friday, November 11, from 7-9 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Home.
