Elmer Jackson

Mr. Elmer L. Jackson, 74, of Prescott, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

He was born Dec. 21, 1930, in Blevins, to Paul and Ada Philyaw Jackson. He was a logger and a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Blevins.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Lavon Jackson, his parents, one granddaughter, Melissa Mauldin, three brothers, Edward, Eugene and Hank Jackson, and two sisters, Pauline Brown and Sarah Lemieux.

Survivors include three sons, Gary Jackson of Gurdon, and Raymond and Tommy Jackson of Prescott; one daughter, Janice Jackson of Gurdon; six sisters, Mary Jean Hickman of Oxford, Ala., Pee Wee Zimmer of Blevins, Betty Britz, of Odessa, Texas, Mattie Sue Pilgrim of El Paso, Texas, Alice Owens of Blevins and Debbie Stueart of Nashville; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, 2005, at the Union Grove Baptist Church, Blevins, with the Rev. Dee Rupple and the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial followed at Union Grove Cemetery, Blevins, under the direction of Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home of Prescott.

The family received friends Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
