Betty ManningPublished Wednesday, October 26, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Betty George Sampson Manning, 78, of Prescott, died Saturday, October 22, 2005, at Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock. She was born on July 15, 1927, in Nevada County to Pearson George and Oma Gertrude Barker Sampson. She was a homemaker, mother and former bank teller in Houston, Texas, having worked in several banking institutions in her earlier years. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Sutton. She was preceded in death by one brother, Carolyn Franklin Bobby Sampson. Survivors include: her husband of 62 years, Arthur D. Buddy Manning of Prescott; one son, Arthur D. Sonny Manning, Jr. and Karen of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter, Peggy Mazoch and Kerry of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Garland A. Bud Sampson of Sherwood and James Arthur Jimmy Sampson of Prescott; three grandchildren, Melissa Manning of San Antonio, Don Gay, Jr. and wife Kimberly, of San Marcos, Texas, and Shane Gay and wife Kate of Houston; and two great-grandchildren Eli Gay and Caleb Gay of San Marcos. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel of Prescott, with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed in Laneburg Cemetery in Laneburg. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
