Irene Dickerson Tolleson, 83, of West Memphis died Wednesday, Oct 19, 2005, in the Crittenden Memorial Hospital in West Memphis.

She was born Feb. 20, 1922, in Nevada County, the seventh child of Edd and Annie Black Dickerson. She retired from the West Memphis Utility Commission as a night security guard. She was a member of the Ingram Blvd. Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. C. Tolleson, one son, James Dickie Tolleson, four sisters, Jewelle Edwards, Ruby Allen, Elsie Smith and Lois Webb, three brothers, Ellis, Buck and Herbert Dickerson.

Survivors include one daughter, Jimmie Carr and her husband Roy of Arlington, Texas; one sister, Jo Parker of West Memphis, grandchildren, Amy Carr and her husband, Bill Helsley, Jeremy Tolleson and his wife, Laura and Kevin Carr; great-grandchildren, Stevie Stroik and Aidan Carr.

Graveside services were 11 a.m. Saturday, October 22, 2005, in Rose Hill Cemetery in Arkadelphia, with Pastor Clayton Adams officiating. Interment was under the direction of Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
