Health Alliance Officers ElectedPublished Wednesday, March 24, 1999 in the Nevada County PicayuneMembers of the Prescott/Nevada County Health Alliance met for their first meeting of the year on Tuesday, March 9, at Nevada County Extension office. The health alliance is made up of interested medical personal and other support groups in and around Nevada County who wish to promote good health. Each year a day of free health screening is provided to anyone who wishes to attend. It is an educational opportunity as well as a day of fun for all ages with lots of give-aways. Chad Cornelius, health-arama coordinator, reported that 400 to 500 people attended the 1998 health fair. The weather did not cooperate, but an alternate weather plan was implemented and all seemed to go well. New officers were elected. Mary Alice Blevins is health alliance coordinator; Pat Blake, health fair coordinator; and Kay Haynie, is secretary/treasurer. The next meeting for the group will be April 13 at 7 a.m. at Maxine's Diner. Anyone wishing to attend is invited. The alliance welcomes any new ideas as it begins to plan for the 1999 health fair.
