Dorman Barger, 74, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Hope, died Wednesday, September 21, 2005, in Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She was born on March 9, 1931, in Bodcaw, to Amos Green and Lola Purtle Dorman. She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Arkadelphia and former member of Unity Baptist Church in Hope. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Hugh Barger, who died in 1961. Her survivors include two sons, Phillip Barger and Kay of Crossroads, Texas, and Bobby Barger and Tammy of Okolona; one daughter, Susan Barger of Calif.; one brother, G.W. Dorman of Bodcaw; three sisters, Ruby Vines and Jude Allen both of Bodcaw and Lola Allen of Hope; six grandchildren; Nick Koletes, Melissa Koletes, Travis Barger, Bobby Barger, Erica Barger and Bowe Barger; several brothers and sisters-in-laws and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 3 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2005, at Unity Baptist Church of Hope, with Rev. John Howard and Rev. I.V. Hight officiating. Burial was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home of Hope. Family received friends Friday, September 23, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
