The rain poured down from the aftermath of Hurricane Rita but cheers of encouragement came from a large crowd when Davies was crowned queen in the GHS cafetorium.

Davies will wave to the crowd at this years Forest Festival, on Saturday, Oct. 29.

The lights remained on throughout the pageant, but a tree was said to have fallen near the Gurdon City Park.
