Jones GarrettPublished Wednesday, August 17, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Jones Garrett, Jr., 84, of Prescott, died Friday, August 12, 2005, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. He was born on February 25, 1921, in Prescott to Jones P. and Maime Ellison Garrett. He was a farmer. He was a Baptist and a World War II Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Gracie Narvelle Shipp Garrett. Survivors include one son, Charles David Garrett of Magnolia; one brother, Kenneth Garrett of Sarepta, La.; three sisters, Sue Strebel of Fayetteville, Evelyn Holloman of Grand Prairie, Texas and Rosalie Smith of Crandall, Texas; two grandchildren, Rachel Renae Garrett and Amy Sarah Garrett both of Magnolia. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2005, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Neal Ridling officiating. Burial followed in Moscow Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Sunday, August 14, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
