Ellen Campbell

Ellen Campbell, 108, of Arkadelphia died Aug. 8, 2005, at Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia.

She was born June 10, 1897, in Prescott, the daughter of the late Edward and Carolyn Bragg.

She was a beautician and a member of Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church where she served in the mission department and was the missionary president. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Campbell, and her daughter, Maurice Evelyn Bucker.

Austin Capps, Gurdon businessman, said she was widely known in the Gurdon area for many years and will be missed.

Survivors include: three great-nephews, Naccaman Williams of Springdale, Nathaniel Williams of Tacoma, Wash., Nelson Williams of Lexington, Ky.; four great-great-nephews and one great-great-niece; and two cousins.

Funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at Mt. Canaan Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Johnny Harris officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hedge Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Home.

Visitation was from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
