Hera Morehead

Mrs. Hera Louise Bailey Morehead, 83, of Prescott, died Wednesday, August 3, 2005, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She was born on July 14, 1922, in Rosston to William Robert and Ouida Luck Bailey. She was a store manager at Carrolls Grocery and Market in Prescott for 25 years plus 15 years at their store in Waterloo. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Prescott since 1961; a member of the United Methodist Women; choir member; kitchen committee; and Childrens Sunday school teacher for several years. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and former PTA president at Willisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents and by one brother Truett Bailey.

Her survivors include: her husband of 63 years, Carroll Morehead of Prescott; one son, Ronald D. Morehead of Springtown, Texas; one daughter, Anne Gautsche of Bedford, Texas; two brothers, Welton Bailey and Gurvin Bailey both of Magnolia; two sisters, Mary Jett of Lewisville and Yvonne Murry of Magnolia; and three grandchildren, Melissa Morehead of Woodbridge, Conn., Hannah Gautsche and Sam Gautsche both of Bedford.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, August 5, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church in Prescott, with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland, Rev. David Kassos and Rev. Charles Murry officiating. Burial followed at Willisville Methodist Cemetery in Willisville. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Thursday, August 4, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
