Lila LeePublished Wednesday, July 27, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneLila Richey Lee, 84, formerly of Linden, Texas, passed away July 17, 2005, at 2:40 p.m. at Golden Acres Retirement Home in Dallas, Texas. She was born August 27, 1920, in Centreville, Alabama, to Joseph Clayton and Bessie Nichols Richey. She was the eighth child of 12 siblings. On January 27, 1939, Lila married J.D. Doc Lee. She was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Doc Lee, 10 of her siblings and her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Beverly Dianne Lee Nix Hauerwas and son-in-law Bill Hauerwas of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Maxine Pack Freeman of Prescott; grandchildren, Shadara D. Nix, Janice A. Viola and Donny Hauerwas; great-grandchildren, Karsyn, Kyndal and Milze; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Shackelford Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott. Interment was at DeAnn Cemetery under the direction of the Shackelford Funeral Home.
