Louise Mitchell

Mrs. Louise Wren Mitchell, 88, of Prescott, died Thursday, July 7, 2005, in Pinehope Nursing and Rehab in Prescott.

She was born on April 5, 1917, in Sutton to Alonzo Floyd and Grace Mae Bates Wren. She was former owner of Mitchells Jewelry Store in Prescott; timber and land owner for more than 50 years; and also worked at Fishers Aircraft as Rosie the Riveter during the war.

She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Burton Mitchell, who died in 1964; by her parents; by one brother, Fred Bates Wren; by one sister, Lillian Wren Stewart, and by one grandson, Theodore Burton Mitchell.

Survivors include one son, Alonzo George Mitchell and Jane of Prescott; one daughter, Donna Lynn Shell and Edward Everett of Forney, Texas; one brother, Joe Harold Wren of Prescott; two sisters, Frances Grace Wren Durbin of Memphis, Tenn. and Patricia Sue Wren Wells of Houston, Texas; seven grandchildren, Donald Edward Shell and Jenny of Garland, Texas, John Duncan Shell and Veronica of Graham, Wash., Marcus Wren Shell, Marion Renee Shell and Everett Mitchell Shell all of Forney, Jeremy Don Mitchell of Waldo, and Benjamin Thomas Mitchell and Stephanie of Prescott; nine great-grandchildren, John Duncan Shell, Jr., Rebekah Lois Shell, Nathan Alexander Shell, Lillian Rose Shell, Elizabeth Sariah Shell, and Hannah Joy Shell all of Graham, Justin Everett Shell and Juliana Lynn Shell all of Garland, and Tyler Stephen Mitchell of Prescott; one aunt, Cornelia Robinson of Little Rock; four sister-in-laws, Irene Mitchell of Salt Lake City, Utah, Genevieve Shepherd of Mesa, Ariz., June Wren of Van Buren; and Kay Ridgell of Prescott.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9, 2005, at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel in Prescott, with Rev. Jerry Westmoreland and Bro. Paul Ridgell officiating. Burial followed in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Friday, July 8, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Special thanks to The Pinehope Staff, Medical Park and staff, Dr. Charles Vermont and staff, Peachtree Hospice of Texarkana and Mr. Glen Vasser and staff for all the love and support in the last few months of Mrs. Mitchells illness. Thanks from the family.
