Matthew LaneyPublished Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Matthew Brandon Laney, 15, of Emmet, died Friday, July 1, 2005, in East Texas Medical Center in Tyler, Texas. He was born on September 19, 1989, in Magnolia to William David Laney, Jr. and Glenda Lollis Stephens. He was a student at Emmet High School. He was a member at Providence Memorial Baptist Church in Perrytown. He was a member of Emmet FFA and Emmet track team. His survivors include his father, William David Laney, Jr. of McNeil; his mother, Glenda Lollis Stephens and Bobby of Emmet; one brother, Jonathon Randall Stephens of Emmet; paternal grandmother, Paula Lewis of McNeil; maternal grandfather, David Lollis of Emmet; several uncles, aunts, cousins and a special friend, Yolanda Reed of Emmet. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2005, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope with Rev. James Honeycutt officiating. Burial followed in Union Grove Cemetery in Blevins.
