Rev. Jack LowePublished Wednesday, June 29, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneRev. Jack Bertrum Lowe, 80, of Enid, Okla., passed away Friday, June 17, 2005, in Enid. He was born February 8, 1925, at Cale to Algie W. and Muriel Baker Lowe. He grew up in Prescott where he graduated from high school. He earned his degree in English and speech communication from Northwestern University and his degree in religion from Southern Nazarene University. He married Margaret P. Otwell October 24, 1945, in Nipoma, Calif. He was ordained as an elder in the Church of the Nazarene in Little Rock in 1947 and was pastor for more than 55 years in various towns in Arkansas and Oklahoma, including Oklahoma City, Alva, Hooker, Tulsa and Enid. He was pastor of Enid Maine Church of the Nazarene from 1987 until his death. He served on the district advisory board, Sunday School board and ministerial studies board of Northwest Oklahoma District and also was a past president of Enid Ministerial Alliance. Surviving are his wife, Margaret of the home; two sons, Jack W. Lowe of Atlanta and Jonathan Lowe of Windsor, Mo.; four daughters, Janice Carter of Prescott, Rebecca Cornelius of Enid, Amelia Adams and Barbara Hoffman, both of Hooker; twelve grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, one brother, and a grandson. Funeral services were at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Nola Sampson and Dr. Tharon Daniels officiated. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements were by Anderson-Burris Funeral Home. Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Enid Maine Church of the Nazarene.
