Tilman HairstonPublished Wednesday, June 15, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneTilman R. Hairston, 81, of Baytown, Texas was born February 22, 1924, in Bodcaw, and passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2005, in a Houston hospital. He retired from the Texas Eastern Transmission Corp. in 1985 and was a member of Coady Baptist Church and a U.S. Air Force WWII veteran. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Geneva Hairston of Baytown; sister, Betty Green of Ashtown; friends, Leon and Mildred Haynes of Baytown and their family; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family received friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday, June 9, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services were Friday, June 10, 2005, at 10 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Bo Mangum officiating. Graveside services were at the Union Cemetery in Bodcaw Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lynn Green officiating.
