William SanfordPublished Wednesday, June 8, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneWilliam Sonny Sanford, 71, of Arkadelphia, died Sunday at St. Josephs Mercy Hospital in Hot Springs. Sonny was a retired hardwood lumber inspector for Anthony Timberlands, a member of Beech Street Baptist Church in Gurdon, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, also an ordained minister and deacon. Survivors include his devoted wife of 49 years, Helen Norton Sanford; son, Mark Sanford and wife, Beverly of Gurdon; daughter, Sharon Ard and husband, Robert of El Dorado; grandchildren, Kayla and Jordan Sanford. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents, William Grady and Eunice McKinney Sanford and sister, Dorothy Horsley. Services were 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 1, 2005, at Beech Street Baptist Church with Bro. Rick Pyron officiating. Interment Copeland Ridge Cemetery, visitation Tuesday evening between 6-8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home in Gurdon.
