Clark takes over as EDO director

Floyd Clark has replaced Jon Chadwell as executive director of the Prescott-Nevada County Economic Development Office.

Clark comes to Prescott from Winona, Mo. where he did consulting for grant writing and community assistance, along with teaching leadership, financial decision making, human resources management and effective communications.

When he worked with the University of Mo. Outreach and Extension organization, he did community decision support, organizational development, assisted with not-for-profit formation and management, along with working on tourism and economic development.

He worked to assist building owners and operators get and stay in compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and building codes while with Clark Inspection Services in Columbia, Mo.

Clark also worked with the Missouri State Fair system in Sedalia, where he managed facilities and grounds maintenance, did planning and budgets, set up event support and security while also developing and implementing an emergency maintenance plan.

During a stint with Business Consulting Services in Columbia, he provided support for turn-arounds and start up businesses, did real estate development and retail office services.

Clark worked with Memorial Union at UM, where he managed accounting, personnel, budgets and building maintenance functions, began the arts program and developed an emergency management plan.

Also at UM, Clark worked at planning, promoting, conducting, coordinating and evaluating non-credit events on-or-off campus.

While working with Olin Mathieson Chemical Corp., he went from junior accountant in general accounting to supervisor and did cost accounting.

He was also a bookkeeper and did counter sails, along with production/inventory reporting while with Southern Cotton Oil.

Clark has a BA in Recreation and Administration from UM, along with a MS in Recreation and Administration from UM.

Clark assumed duties with the EDO Monday, May 15, with a reception in his honor held Friday, May 20, at the Bank of Prescott.
