Al Bowden

Mr. Allison Al D. Bowden, 69, of McCaskill, died Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Nashville Nursing Center in Nashville.

He was born April 4, 1936, in Hempstead County to Hazel and Lois Durham Bowden. He was retired from Carpet Cushion of Hope and also retired from Meyers Bakery (now Southern Bakeries) with more than 25 years. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in McCaskill; an Army Veteran and a member of Blue Branch Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sally Stone Bowden, who died Aug 6, 2002; by his parents; by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lillie and Austin Stone; and by two brother-in-laws, Hansford Stone and Dale Brooks.

His survivors include: one sister, Joyce Beard and Harold of Hope and their children; one sister-in-law, Ava Nell Brooks and their children; two nephews, Danny Stone and Elaine of McCaskill and son Jacob David Stone of Texarkana, Tex. and son Chase; one niece, Debbie Butler and Wayne of Sour Lake, Tex. and daughters, Jodie and Jill; and several cousins.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at Friendship United Methodist Church in McCaskill with Rev. J.R. Callicott officiating. Burial in Friendship Cemetery in McCaskill. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Tuesday, April 26, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
