Garland Goodwin

Garland Goodwin, 88, of Willisiville, died Saturday, April 2, 2005, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

He was born July 25, 1916, to Tom and Rosa Goodwin. Mr. Goodwin was a retired farmer, a veteran of World War II and a deacon of Whites Chapel Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Floy Fae Goodwin, one son, Jacky Lynn Goodwin, three sisters, and two brothers.

Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Gaylor Waters and Peggy and Paul Bailey all of Willisville; one brothers, Aubrey Goodwin of Willisville; six grandchildren, Barry Waters, Gayla Nicholas, Amy Chambers, Ted Waters, Phoebe Bailey and Penny Huffman; 11 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 5, 2005, at Whites Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Wayne Langston officiating assisted by Bro. Daniel Williams with burial in the Union Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home of Stamps.
