Golden OldiesDoris VancePublished Wednesday, March 24, 1999 in the Gurdon Times The Gurdon senior adults really enjoyed the first and fourth grade students singing for us last week. The first graders and Pat Talley entertained us on Monday, March 15, and the fourth graders on Tuesday, March 16. Jerry Don Childers directed both groups. We really appreciate Jerry Don taking time from his busy schedule to do this for us. Martha Bearden is doing a very good job as activity director. She is planning many activities for the center. Friday was Show and Tell Day. We now have a contest going, trying to count the number of jelly beans in a jar. This is a fund- raiser for the Gurdon Senior Adult Center and the one who come closest to the number will get the jelly beans. USDA commodities were issued at the Gurdon Center on Tuesday, March 23. We still wish our sick ones a speedy recovery. The Gurdon Senior Adult Center is a program of Central Arkansas Development Council and is a United Way Agency.
