It's time for the annual Prescott-Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt.

Area children can meet the Easter Bunny up close and personal Saturday, March 27.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. until noon at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. It will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, the egg hunting will be done inside the Potlatch Building.

Mary Godwin, executive director of the Chamber, said there will be four age divisions, for 1-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-10 year olds. There will be about 2,400 eggs to be hunted this year, with all of them being filled with either candy or a small prize. Some of the eggs will have letters or numbers on them. These eggs can be traded for larger prizes inside the Potlatch Building.

And, of course, there will be one golden egg in each division. The child who finds it will win a stuffed Easter bunny.

Children can have their photo take with the Easter bunny as well. These photos will be $2 each.

The Artesian Arts League is sponsoring a balloonist someone who ties balloons into different shapes for the event.

Godwin said there will be different stations and booths for the children to visit. Each will have an activity, such as arts and crafts. Some of the events planned include a coloring contest for each age division, a jelly bean guessing contest, a wind up rabbit race and a duck pond, along with a ring toss and ping pong ball toss game.

For those children who plan on visiting all the booths, Godwin said, they need to come early as it will take most of the two hours to do everything.
