Myrtle Sutton

Mrs. Mytle Sutton, 88, of Hope, died Tuesday March 8, 2005, at Medical Park Hospital in Hope.

She was born on August 20, 1916, in Emmet, to Albert and Trudy Purtle Hamilton. She was a homemaker, mother, former clerk with a J.C. Penny's and West Dept. Store and former Hempstead County Tax Assessor. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church of Hope and the Medical Park Hospital Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Sutton.

Her survivors include: one son, Dennis Sutton of Hope; one step-daughter, Julia Nolen of Fort Smith; one brother, James Hamilton of Pinole, Calif.; one sister, Betty Harper of Bridge City, Tex.; eight grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2005, at Unity Baptist Church in Hope with Rev. I.V. Hight and Rev. Eric Barbaree officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery in Sutton.

Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Thursday, March 10, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.
