Mildred McRaePublished Wednesday, March 16, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Mildred Avery McRae, 95, of Hot Springs, died Saturday, February 26, 2005, at her home. She was born on December 28, 1909, in Prescott to Ike I. and Bertha Hale Avery. She was a former supervisor with Green Thumb Project and Homemaker. She was a member of Delight United Methodist Church in Delight. She was a former Girl Scout and Girl Scout Leader; worked in various positions within her church and worked with the youth; member of Business and Professional Women's Organization, having been named Woman of the Year in 1975. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth G. McRae; one brother, S.L. "Blue" Avery and one sister, Medius Avery. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Wallace, Kenneth McRae, Jr., Nathan McRae, Jeff McRae, and Nanette Bilyeu. Her survivors include: one daughter, Kay Wallace of Hot Springs; one step-son, Kenneth McRae, Sr. of Little Rock; one grandson, Greg Wallace of Little Rock; and one niece, Carolyn Colvin and John of Shreveport, La. Graveside services were 10 a.m. March 2, 2005, in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott, with Rev. Freeman Henderson officiating. Burial followed. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
