Hautie HuskeyPublished Wednesday, March 16, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Hautie L. Wardlaw Huskey, 92, of Blevins, died Tuesday, March 8, 2005, in Medical Park Hospital in Hope. She was born February 15, 1913, in Redland Community of McCaskill, to Robert and Linnie Chism Wardlaw. She was a retired Postmaster of Blevins Post Office. She was a member of Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church in Blevins. She went to work for U.S. Postal Service in the 1940's. Later she was appointed postmaster and then retired in 1978. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee H. Huskey, who died in 1971; by three brothers, Myron "Top", Udell and Guy Wardlaw; and by two sisters, Velda Bowles and Zula Sewell. Her survivors include: one son, Gary Huskey and Bonnie of Blevins; one daughter, Carole Hash and Bobby of Blevins; one sister, Ann Smart of Odessa, Tex.; four grandsons, Johnny Hash, Lee Michael Huskey, and twins, David and Duane Huskey; six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2005, at Bruce Memorial United Methodist Church in Blevins, with Rev. Jimmy Teeter and Rev. Paul Choate officiating. Burial was in Sweet Home Cemetery in Hempstead County. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Wednesday, March 9, 2005, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family wishes to thank Dr. Michael Young of Prescott, Hillcrest Care and Rehab of Prescott, and Medical Park Hospital of Hope for their kindness and care of Mrs. Hautie.
