Lura ReedPublished Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneLura Juanita Clark Reed, 83, of Doddridge, died Friday, March 4, 2005, at her residence. She was born September 21, 1921, in Nevada County. Mrs. Reed was a retired owner of Midway Service Grocery Store, a WWII veteran, and a member of Mt. Moriah Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilburn F. Clark and Rosa Rosanna Alford Clark and her husband, Carl Reed. Survivors include: three sisters, Jean Hinson of Waskom, Tex., Hattie Clark Phipps of Longview, Tex., and Mattie Clark Green of Doddridge; one brother, Frank Clark of Hope; two sisters-in-law, Doris Clark of Shreveport, La., and Barbara Hackney of Bensonville, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Doddridge with Rev. Walter Burnett officiating under the direction of Smith Funeral Home in Stamps.
