Authorities recover stolen pickup truckBY JOHN NELSONPublished Wednesday, March 9, 2005 in the Gurdon Times A Sunday drive was about all it amounted to when a red, 1994 Chevrolet S10 pickup left the owner's Joslyn Street residence about 7:30 a.m. and was recovered at 11 a.m. Gurdon Marshal Don Childres said W.C. Kinder, 81, of 405 E. Joslyn Street, reported his pick-up as stolen early Sunday morning, Feb. 27, and it was found by the Garland County Sheriff's Department in Hot Springs being driven by Joshua Whatley, 25. Whatley was arrested for grand theft auto, a felony. Childres said Whatley is in the Clark County Jail. "I am not sure what condition the truck is in, but it has been recovered," Childres said. "Whatley was pursued by Garland County Sheriff's deputies as he drove the pick-up. He was taken into custody at Hot Springs." Search | Nevada County Picayune by date | Gurdon Times by date |
