Sidney FranklinPublished Wednesday, February 23, 2005 in the Gurdon TimesSidney W. Franklin, of Camden, was born on February 6, 1920 and died on February 16, 2005. He retired from International Paper Company on December 1, 1980. He served four years in the Army in World War II. He is survived by his wife, Lila Franklin, of Camden; two sons, Bill Franklin and wife, Marie, of Camden, and Durwin Franklin of El Dorado; five grandchildren, Letitia Franklin, Cassie Ayers, Cooper Franklin, Danica Langford, and Deann Dillman; nine great-grandchildren, D.J. Gallagher, Cameron Gallagher, Garvey Gallagher, Hayley Franklin, Laura Ayers, Peyton Langford, Makenna Langford, Trey Dillman, and Kiera Dillman; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday at Proctor Funeral Home with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. James Draper and the Rev. Tim Leggitt will officiate the service.
