Irene Head

Mrs. Irene Elizabeth Treas Head, 83, of Prescott, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at her home.

She was born March 15, 1921, in Prescott to John William Treas and Trudy Alice Witherspoon Treas.

She was a homemaker and mother. She was a member of Missionary Grove Baptist Church of the Nubbin Hill Community.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Everett Head, who died April 28, 2000, and by one brother, William Watson Treas.

Survivors include: four sons, Charles Everett Head and Martha of Prescott, Gaylon Lee Head and Alice of Prescott, Dean Head and Carol of Hope, and Terry Head and Suzanne of Maysville, Ky.; four daughters, Carol Sue Hill and Bill of Prescott, Kay Schane and Glenn of Flower Mound, Texas, Ann "Sam" Hill and Jerry of Delight, and Judy Roberts and Vernon Jr. of Hope; two brothers, Hilton Treas of Prescott and John William Treas of Ashdown; one sister-in-law, Arlene Moses of Hope; 30 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at the Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home Chapel, Prescott, with the Rev. Coy Zumwalt and the Rev. Larry Jones officiating. Burial followed in Missionary Grove Cemetery, Nubbin Hill Community, under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home fo Prescott.

The family received friends Monday, Feb. 14, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
