Jim CriderPublished Wednesday, February 16, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Jim Tom Crider, 84, of Nashville, formerly of Hope, died Friday, Feb. 11, 2005, in Beverly Healthcare of Nashville. He was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Nevada County to Bright and Elizabeth McGough Crider. He was retired from the City of Hope Street Department, was a member of Maranatha Baptist Church of Nashville, was a strong Christian man and a great witness of God. He loved singing hymns and going to church. He was lovingly devoted to his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three sister, Lois McClure, Ola Mae Chism and Lovenia Clark, one brother, Eugene Crider, and one grandchild, Shaun Crider. Survivors include three sons, Terry Crider of Lincoln, Jerry Crider of Shover Springs and Perry Crider of Nashville; one daughter, Carol Golden of Prescott; one sister, Joyce Caudle of Springhill, La.; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at the Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Bruce Short and the Rev. Oliver McKamie officiating. Burial followed in Harmony Cemetery, Sutton, under the direction of Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home, Hope Family received friends Sunday, Feb. 13, from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
