Delton Barker

Delton William Barker, 84, died Sunday, February 6, 2005, in the Ouachita County Hospital.

He was born September 28, 1920, in Prescott.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jewell Cross Barker and George Barker; and his brother, Tillman Barker.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Juanice Jenkins Barker of Camden; two daughters, Roxanne Lamkin and husband, Lonnie Lamkin, Jr. of Stephens; and Lisa Weaver and husband, Gary Weaver of Camden; four grandchildren, Chad Lamkin, Courtney Lamkin, Matt Weaver, and Kimberly Weaver; and two sisters, Virgil Hartsell of Camden and Jean Smith of Gilmer, Tex.

He was a veteran of WWII where he received the Bronze Star and two purple hearts. He retired from Safeway where he worked for 35 years as Produce Manager. He was an avid fisherman, deer hunter and he loved to garden and work in his yard. He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church.

Graveside services were held at Memorial Park Cemetery, Tuesday, February 8, at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Jim Cross and Rev. John Dill officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church of Camden.
