Carl Baker

Mr. Carl Frederick Baker, 89, of Murfreesboro, formerly of Delight, died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, in Christus St. Michael Health System in Texarkana, Texas.

He was born June 15, 1915, in Kremlin, Colorado to Carl George and Bertha Dearden Baker. He was a retired oil field superintendent. He was a Baptist and an Army Veteran of World War II, having been the recipient of both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey Wise Baker; by his daughter, Pansy Blue; and by two brothers.

His survivors include his wife, Eva Wheeless Hall Baker of Murfreesboro; one brother, Bob Baker of Grand Junction, Colo.; one nephew, Ron Knapp of Grand Junction; six grandchildren, Susan Bryant Smith and Robby Bryant both of Wichita, Kan., Brenda Bryant Politte of Independence, Mo., Rebecca Bryant Coleman of Mancos, Colo., Rick Scofield of Loveland, Colo., and Kenny Scofield of Grand Junction.

Funeral services were 1 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home Chapel in Hope, with Rev. Jim Sayers officiating. Burial followed in Macedonia Cemetery in Murfreesboro. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope.

Family received friends Friday, February 4, 2005, from noon until service time.
