Pauline PurtlePublished Wednesday, January 5, 2005 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Pauline Ray Purtle, 85, of Hope, died Saturday, January 1, 2005, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born July 11, 1919, in Hope to J.W. and Ida Cullins Ray. She was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Hope and the W.M.A. She was a member and former president of the Rose Garden Club Council; member of Extension Homemakers Club of Hope and former secretary of Arkansas Farm Bureau for Women. She was preceded in death by her parents by her husband, Ned Purtle, who died in 1996; by two brothers, and six sisters. Her survivors include: one son, Ned Ray Purtle and Carolyn of Hope; one sister, Dorothy Hughen of Lincoln Park, Mich.; two grandsons, Mike Purtle and Tiffany of Hope and Steve Purtle and Michele of Russellville; two great-grandchildren, Ashton Purtle of Russelville and Makayla Purtle of Hope; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were 10 a.m. Monday, January 3, 2005, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope with Dr. Ed Claybrook and Rev. Earl Cumbie officiating. Burial followed. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Sunday, January 2, 2005, from 3-5 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest.
