Laura Stokes

Mrs. Laura Beatrice Stokes, 88, died at a local nursing home Wednesday, December 8, 2004.

Mrs. Stokes was the widow of Floyd Stokes. She was a member of the Crossroads Assembly of God Church and was a chicken farmer.

Mrs. Stokes is survived by two daughters, Connie Page of Texarkana, Texas and Ella McKinnon of Delight. She is also survived by three brothers, H.T. Gardner of Little Rock, Baskell Gardner and M.L. Gardner both of Phoenix, Arizona; sisters Estelle Wingfield of Garland, Texas, Zona Tutt of Bossier City, Louisiana and Ruby Foster of San Antonio, Texas; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation was from 6-8:30 p.m. Thursday evening.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, December 10, at the Crossroads Assembly of God Church near Delight with Doug McClure and Danny Eckert officiating. Burial was at the Delight Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home.
