Billy MartinPublished Wednesday, December 8, 2004 in the Nevada County PicayuneBilly R. Martin, 57, of Prescott, passed away on December 2, 2004, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Prescott, served in the United States Air Force receiving a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star for his service in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Master Sergeant in 1968. Survivors include: his wife of 36 years, Judy McKinnon Martin; son, Donald Jeffrey Martin and wife, Mandy of Genoa; daughter, Dr. Kristi Martin Hawkins and husband, Jason of Benton; mother, Flossie Nolan Martin of Prescott; four grandchildren, Corey Alan, Jeffrey Lane, Abigael Elizabeth, and Kagan Wade Martin. He was preceded in death by his father, Merlin C. (Billy) Martin n November of 1990. Funeral services were Saturday at 2 p.m. in Prescott Church of Christ with Bro. Neal Ridling officiating. Interment was in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Shackelford Funeral Home. E-mail condolences to the family at shackelfordfh@yahoo.com.
