Lion's Auction December 9-10

It's time once again for the annual Lion's Club Auction.

This year's auction will be held Dec. 9-10 at the Nevada County Courthouse from 6-10 p.m. each evening, or until everything has been auctioned off.

Part of the money raised by the auction will be donated to the Picayune Toy Drive to help provide Christmas presents to needy children throughout Nevada County, according to Lions Club President George Ivy. Funds are also used to purchase Christmas baskets for the needy, sponsor Little League baseball, buy glasses for children and older people who can't afford them, support Lions World Services for the Blind and other agencies helping the less fortunate in the region.

Between now and Dec. 9, members of the club will be asking merchants and individuals to donate items for the auction. Ivy said, anyone not contacted by the club who would like to make a donation can do so by contacting any member of the Lions Club, or by calling 887-2501 or 887-6895. Those calling will have the donations picked up by a member of the club.

Ivy said the club would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who have made the auction possible the last 31 years. "Without your donations and support, the Lions Club couldn't have helped the needy and less fortunate people in Prescott and Nevada County that we have."

Remember, the auction is Dec. 9-10 at the Nevada County Courthouse from 6-10 p.m. or until everything has been auctioned off.
