Two Prescott residents were arrested on drug charges recently.

According to reports from the Prescott Police Department, Larry Peters, 46, has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, delivery of a controlled substance, namely crack cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, theft by receiving and endangering the welfare of a minor.

Denise Walker, 29, was charged with offenses relating to record maintaining at a drug premises and endangering the welfare fo a minor in the second degree.

According to Morris Irvin, criminal investigator for the PPD, a controlled buy was made from Peters on Nov. 10, through an informant. The report states the informant was given money to make a drug buy with and went to the Peters residence on Bemis Street.

Officers had the house staked out and witnessed Peters leave the residence, go to a stove in the front yard and get something. He then returned to the house. The informant left, later meeting with Irvin, who was given one rock of an off-white substance believed to be crack cocaine.

A search warrant was executed, and turned up a gallon ziploc plastic bag half full of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana, and another plastic bag in a trash can in the bedroom with six off-white rocks of a substance believed to be crack cocaine. The drugs, according to the report, were accessible to two toddlers there.

In addition, officers found a set of postal scales on a bedside table, and a search outside the house turned up 34 rocks of what is believed to be crack cocaine. This was found behind the stove in the yard on a rubber mat.

A search of Peters's car turned up a chainsaw believed to have been stolen, along with other items reported stolen. Peters, Irvin said, claims he bought the items from someone else.

When Peters was searched, officers found the money the informant was given for the buy, and $1,090 in cash.

Peters was placed under arrest and taken to the Nevada County Sheriff's Office.
