Head Start Now Taking ApplicationsPublished Wednesday, March 31, 1999 in the Gurdon TimesGurdon Head Start Center, located at 410 East Main, will be taking applications April 5-9 for pre-registration for children who want to attend during the 1999-2000 program. The times to apply are: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. If you have a child who will be three years old by September 1, he may be eligible for child care services at no cost to the parent. You may go by the center to pre-enroll you child. You must take proof of income (preferably 1998 tax return), your child's birth certificate and immunization record. Eligibility is based on income guidelines. A part day program is provided for non-working parents and a full day program is offered for working or in-school parents. The center is administered by Central Arkansas Development Council with federal funds from the Department of Health and Human Services. For further information, call the center at 353-6616.
