Delbert Steed

Mr. Delbert Steed, 81, of Prescott, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott.

He was born on October 11, 1923, in Nevada County to Rufus and Hazel Wingfield Steed.

He was a retired grader operator with the Potlatch Corp. of Prescott. He was a member of Laneburg United Pentecostal Church of Laneburg.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Steed and James Steed, by his wife, Josephine Wicker Steed, who died in 1992; and by one brother, Cecil "Pete" Steed.

Survivors include: one son, Mike Steed of Prescott; one daughter, Sandra Pace of Kalamazoo, Mich.; one brother, Billy Don Steed of Okla.; one sister, Bobbie Lou Dennis of Camden; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2004, at Laneburg United Pentecostal Church in Laneburg, with Neal Ridling, Rev. George Pace and Rev. Wilburn Wesson officiating. Burial followed in Caney/Morris Cemetery in Caney. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.

Family received friends Thursday, November 11, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
