Clara JohnsonPublished Wednesday, November 3, 2004 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Clara Buchanan Johnson, 87, of Prescott, died Wednesday, October 27, 2004, in Hillcrest Care and Rehab in Prescott. She was born January 16, 1917, in Prescott to Dr. Gilbert A. and Florine Warrick Buchanan. She was a homemaker and a retired news clerk of the former Nevada News. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Prescott, a member of their Women of the Church, and member of Benjamin Culp Chapter of DAR. She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie White Johnson, who died in December 1986; by one son, Archie White Johnson, Jr.; and by one brother, Paul Buchanan. Her survivors include: one son, Gil Johnson of Prescott; one daughter, Phoebe Parks of Richmond, Texas; one brother, Donnell Buchanan of Tulsa, Okla.; four grandchildren, Valerie Cobb, Jessica Hartley, Archie Parks, and Marie Parks; and four great-grandchildren, Andrew Cobb, Sebastian Johnson, Sara Cobb, and Labe Hardey. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Friday, October 29, 2004, at First Presbyterian Church, Prescott, with Rev. Jerry G. Westmoreland officiating. Burial followed in DeAnn Cemetery in Prescott. Arrangements by Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott. Family received friends Thursday, October 28, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Cornish Funeral Home in Prescott.
