Wolf link taem returns to state tourney second straight yearBY JOHN MILLERPublished Wednesday, October 20, 2004 in the Nevada County Picayune For the second straight year the Curley Wolf golf team is going to the state tournament. The team advanced by finishing second in the regional tournament at Belvedere Country Club in Hot Springs. But, for the first time, a Wolverette qualified for the state tourney. Misty Avery shot well enough to qualify and went to the tourney, played at the Red Apple Inn course in Heber Springs. The Wolverette team was third overall in the district meet. Avery shot a 107 over 18 holes, while Jordan Haynie fired a 110. Laken Haynie's score was 121, while Sidney Beth Ross finished with a 125. Prescott's boys team also finished third in the district meet, but still advanced to the regional tourney for the second straight year. Drew Richards shot a 77 for Prescott in district, while Ben Hale turned in a score of 78 at DeGray State Park. In the regional tourney, Richards fired a 71, with Hale shooting a 76. Gavan McCauley had an 81, with Roman Richards shooting 84. Chase Haynes rounded out the pack with a 94. The team plays the Chenal Country Club course Wednesday, Oct. 20.
