Heather Drake is Forest Festival Queen

The annual Forest Festival pageant was held on Saturday evening, Sept. 25, with Heather Drake walking away with the top honors.

Drake was named queen of the pageant and also Miss Photogenic. Her leading competitor was first runner-up Ashley Floyd, who was the interview winner. Krissi Davies received second runner-up.

Queen Drake, 18, was also the recipient of a scholarship.

As to the princess category, Codie Golden took all of the honors. She was selected as princess for 2004, Miss Photogenic and she won the interview contest. First runner-up was Jesi Woolf, with Aaren Crews receiving second runner-up.

As to the Junior Miss category, Megan Trout took all the honors. She is the 2004 Junior Miss, as well as the Miss Photogenic winner. The first runner-up position went to Mindi Jester and the second runner-up to Madison Brady.

On the Little Miss results, it was Kristian Starns as the 2004 Forest Festival winner, while Hayley White got photogenic. First runner-up was Olivia Grace Moore and Krista Harper was second runner-up.

On the Tiny Miss for Forest Festival 2004, the winner was Peyton Bradshaw, with Sidney Kuykendall as first runner-up and Kayna Kuykendall as second runner-up. Bradshaw was also received the photogenic award.

The winners of the pageant will be in the Forest Festival Parade, scheduled for downtown Gurdon starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30.

Winners, runners-up and photogenic winners are invited to the parade.

The previous year's winners were on hand to pass on the honors. The 2003 Princes, Heather Hostetler, said, "Pageants are about the friendships you make along the way that can last a lifetime."
