4-H Stars receive winning ribbons

All 23 members of the 4-H Stars of Gurdon came back from the 2004 Clark County Fair with ribbons and other honors.

Leader Linda Calley had the children bring their awards to the Monday, Sept. 27, 4-H meeting at the municipal building. She and her assistant leaders, Misty Calley and Mindy Williams, said the children had all worked very hard "and had reason to be proud."

Calley offered the following list of children and accomplishments:

John David Blackwell, 13, received five blue ribbons, two in poultry, two in ducks and one for a rabbit;

Josh Babineaux, 13, had four ribbons, three blue and one white, two rabbits had blues, one birdhouse had a blue and a chicken had a white;

Macy Key, 3, a birdhouse, red ribbon, a goose, blue, and a rabbit, blue; Hayden Key, 5, had four poultry chain chickens, red;

"We hope nobody got left out, as all of our kids deserve the recognition for a job well done," Calley said.
