Harold HendrixPublished Wednesday, September 29, 2004 in the Nevada County PicayuneMr. Harold Jackson Hendrix, 86, of Hope, died Tuesday, September 21, 2004, at his home. He was born May 19, 1918, in Pike County to Owen B. and Katherine Wingfield Hendrix. He was a self-employed timber-buyer and automobile dealer, having been owner/operator of the former Hendrix Motor Company of Hope. He was a member and Elder of the Hope Church of Christ. Of all of life's accomplishments, he was privileged to serve as Elder of the Church of Christ in both Hope and Prescott for a combination of more than 50 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, former Senator Olin Hendrix. His survivors include: his wife of 65 years, Inez Rogers Hendrix of Hope; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Collier and John and Jeanne Phillips and Ronnie all of Hope; one brother, Buford Hendrix of Antoine; two sisters, Viola Maddox and Bernell of Antoine and Flossie Childers of Prescott; two sisters-in-law, Christine Rogers Griffith of Antoine and Ula Burdue Rogers of Texarkana, Texas; three grandchildren, Rebecca Andrews and Kelly of Prescott, Jennifer Ford and Darrell of Hope and Mandy Bright and Charley of Hope; eight great-grandchildren, Hendrix, Addison, Carey, Alley, Rade, Kylan, Grace and Aubrie. Funeral services were 2 p.m. Thursday, September 23, 2004, at Hope Church of Christ in Hope with Mr. Harley Sisson and Mr. Larry Culbreath officiating. Burial followed in Antoine Cemetery in Antoine. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Wednesday, September 22, 2004, from 6-9 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest.
