J.W. WingfieldPublished Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in the Gurdon TimesJ.W. Wingfield, 82, of Gurdon, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004. He was a retired pipefitter for Reynolds Metals Company, a member of Beech Street Baptist Church, past chairman of the Board of Deacons and a Veteran of World War II. Wingfield is survived by two daughters, Mary Beth Downey and husband, Dennis, of Conway; Sarah Plyler and husband, Larry, of Guatemala; one sister, Virginia Brandon of Gurdon; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services were Tuesday, Sept. 6, in the Beech Street Baptist Church and interment followed in Center Ridge Cemetery by Horne Funeral Home of Gurdon.
