Martha HaltomPublished Wednesday, September 15, 2004 in the Gurdon TimesMartha Haltom, 73, of Gurdon, died Saturday, Sept. 4. She was a teacher at the Gurdon Public Schools, a homemaker, a member of the First United Methodist Church of Gurdon and a member of the Ora Steed Circle. Survivors include: her husband, Clarence Haltom of Gurdon; one son, Alan Haltom and wife Cindy, of Benton; one daughter, Darlene Gates and husband Doug of Cabot; one brother, Robert Vandivere of Perryville; one sister, Allene Spencer of Prescott; four grandchildren, David and Daniel Gates, and Michael and Mandi Haltom. Funeral services were 2 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 6, at the First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rusty Jones officiating. Burial was in the Rose Hedge Cemetery by Horne Funeral Home in Gurdon.
