Richard McKelvy

Richard P. McKelvy, 53, of Conway, formerly of Little Rock, passed away Saturday, August 14, 2004, at his home after a 9 month battle with melanoma.

Mr. McKelvy was born August 24, 1950, in Prescott, to Herman Orland McKelvy and Nell Wanda Walker McKelvy of Bluff City.

Rick enjoyed his family, his work, his man friends, computers and fishing. He was a member of Fellowship Bible Church in Conway. Rick graduated from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, where he received a BSE in Mathematics. He served in the United states Army in the early 1970s and was stationed at the Pine Bluff Arsenal. For the past 30 years, he worked as a systems programmer, most recently with Fidelity Information Services in Little Rock.

Mr. McKelvy is survived by his wife, Jo Anne McKelvy of Conway; one son, Kevin Richard McKelvy of Conway; his parents; brother, Ronald Wayne McKelvy of Bluff City; and sister, Judy Nell Phelps and husband, James of Cabot.

Family visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, August 16, 2004, at the funeral home. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2004, at Fellowship Bible Church in Conway with Ken Wilson officiating.
