Margaret ReedPublished Wednesday, September 1, 2004 in the Nevada County PicayuneMrs. Margaret Ann Reed, 84, of Emmet, passed away Monday, August 23, 2004 in Linrock Health and Rehab Nursing Center in Texarkana, Texas. She was born April 13, 1920, in DeAnn to Odas and Ivey Ruth Prince Honeycutt. She was a retired Shanhouse employee and former egg inspector/processor with Kroger Co. of Hope. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Emmet, and was with the Hope Hospital Auxiliary for more than 18 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert R. "Buck" Reed, who died in August 2000. Her survivors include: one son, Larry Reed of Emmet; one daughter, Dianne Halliwill and Steve of Emmet; two brothers, J.T. Honeycutt and Ray Honeycutt both of Hope; three sisters, Verda Mae Garrett of Prescott, Oveta Kennedy of Mesquite, Texas, and Sue Staner of Highlands, Texas; five grandchildren, Tracie Ann Brewster of Emmet, Michael Reed of Redding, Calif., Robin Reed, of Spring Hill, Randy Reed of Texarkana, Ark., and Shane Antley, US Marine Corp., Camp Pendelton, San Diego, Calif.; and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services were 10 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2004, at First Baptist Church in Emmet, with Mr. Bobby Harden and Mr. Steve Halliwill officiating. Burial was in Snell Cemetery in Emmet. Arrangements by Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home in Hope. Family received friends Wednesday, August 25, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Brazzel/Oakcrest.
