Al-Anon, for those affected by another's drinking, meets Thursday evenings at 8:00 in the church. For more information call 887-5991. Mom's In Touch prayer group meets every Tuesday at 9 a.m. at First Baptist Church. A representative of the Texarkana Social Security office will be at the Nevada County Courthouse on Thursday, March 25; Thursday, April 22; Thursday, May 27, and Thursday, June 24. Supplemental Security Income (SSI) pays monthly checks to people who are aged, disabled or blind and who do not own much or have much income. SSI is not just for adults. Monthly checks can be paid to disabled and blind checks. To find out if you are eligible, call 1-800-772-1213. Preliminary plans are underway for a class reunion of former Cale High School graduates. This is primarily students and staff of 1966-67 through the class of 1988. However, all graduates and alumni of Cale are included. Date and place will be worked out later. There will be an ol' timey adult basketball game April 10 at Emmet School in the Ross Gymnasium. The admission will be $2 for adults and $1 for students. All proceeds will go towards buying lockers for Emmet School and the gym. The Lady Timberwolves will be playing the Lady Eagles and the Timberwolves will be taking on the Eagles. Half-time entertainment will also be provided. The Prescott Housing Authority has now re-opened its Section 8 waiting list. The third annual McNeil High School forties reunion will be held Saturday, April 24, beginning at 1 p.m. at the high school. Activities include registration, visitation, touring the campus and pictures of each year 1940-1949. For more information call 870-695-3727 or 870-695-3796. Former faculty members and those who attended or graduated in the forties are welcome to attend. William and Becky Steed of Arkadelphia announce the birth of their daughter, Taylor Nicole, born Monday, March 15, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center. She weighed 5 pounds and 10 ounces and was 18 inches long. Proud grandparents are Donnie and Carolyn Steed and Steve and Jennie Woods of Prescott. Natasha Brunston and Ryan Zachery of Prescott announce the birth of their daughter, A'briala Ionna Zachery, Friday, March 19, 1999, at Baptist Medical Center in Arkadelphia. She weighed 6 pounds and 15+ ounces and was 20 inches long. Grandparents are Kathy Marks and Tennie Smith of Prescott; Ruby Zachery and Louise Zachery of Prescott; Ruby Burton of Nashville and Ruby Brunston and Leon Brunston of Pine Bluff. The Emmet School board will have its monthly meeting Monday, April 5, at 7 p.m. in room 4. The agenda will include the elementary and high school principals' reports, superintendent's report, building program and personnel matters. The Annual Union Cemetery Association will meet Saturday night, April 3, at 7 p.m. in the Union Baptist Church fellowship hall. Bids for upkeep of cemetery can be turned in to T.J. Hicks, Darland Doodwin, Titton Butler or Daphne Lambert. The Hope Quilters Guild will have its monthly business meeting Monday, April 5, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be in the Citizens National Bank conference room.
