Ethel Ellis, 87, of Prescott, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, in Hope.

She was a lifelong resident of this area and a member of the Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Bodcaw.

She retired from Firestone and spent many of her retirement years as a caregiver in several home in Prescott.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lula (McBride) Wicker; six brothers, Carl Wicker, Talvis Wicker, Nealie Wicker, William Wicker, Arthur Lee Wicker, and Dudley Wicker; two sisters, Lillie Glass and Mae House; and husbands, Oscar Hart and Lawrence Dale Ellis.

Mrs. Ellis is survived by: one son, Al Hart and Mary of Irving, Texas; two stepsons, Deral Ellis and Mary Margaret of Laneburg and Charles Ellis and Gloria of Sutton; one stepdaughter, Bonnie Langston and Wayne of Bodcaw, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild; 10 step grandchildren, 20 step great-grandchildren, and 10 step great- great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was Friday, June 25, 2004, from 6-8 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Home in Prescott. Services for Mrs. Ellis were Saturday, June 26, 2004, at 2:30 p.m. at Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Bodcaw with Bro. Donnie Dillard officiating. Burial followed at Harmony Cemetery.
